Great news! We have now launched our new tube light, the Sabre Mk3. The new tube replaces our previous Sabre tube and provides an incremental upgrade to the series, becoming Australia’s most energy efficient tube.
The Sabre Mk3 still retains all the same high-grade, reliable components of the original Sabre, but has the addition of the latest generation 2835 LED chips, resulting in an efficacy (efficiency) of up to 159 lumens per watt!
The Sabre Mk3 works as a direct upgrade for existing T8 fittings or is certified for direct connection to the mains for permanently wired applications. The key features include:

How it compares with the competition
Apart from being Australia’s most energy efficient tube, the Sabre Mk3 includes the highest quality components on the market. Why does it matter? High quality components equal reliability and lower grade components lead to much higher failure rates.

Requirements of the VEET scheme mean that all tubes accredited under the program have chips that meet LM-80/TM-21 requirements, therefore they are all of decent quality. This means that the only way for manufacturers and suppliers to significantly cut costs is to downgrade the critical driver components. Unfortunately, the driver is the main point of failure in any LED product. How?
- Cheaper driver components are less consistent and much more prone to premature failure.
- Cheap driver components provide lower tolerance to voltage fluctuations, a very common occurrence in Australia.
