Background
HB Fuller looked at upgrading their Dandenong factory to LED to save energy and improve the lighting levels in their production area. Shine On was selected to upgrade the site following a lighting trial and the impressive lux levels it could achieve. HB Fuller were also keen on using a reputable provider who would continue to be around during the extensive warranty period.
The project
Following the lighting trial, we completed a one-for-one retrofit of their old inefficient 400 watt metal halides to the 120 watt Shine On H-Track LED Highbay. The linear H-Track was selected so there was no wasted light over their production and racking areas and we could easily reach the lux levels required with a significantly lower wattage.
Results
Following installation of 44 lights, the site will save 72% on its lighting consumption and deliver 10 year savings of $48,161. The light levels also significantly increased, resulting in a better working environment for staff. HB Fuller were so happy with the results we are soon to upgrade a further two sites for them.
