Background
Lane Cove Aquatic Leisure Centre wanted to upgrade their floodlights over the pool areas to LED. Their current floodlights were failing, expensive to run and, due to access issues, time consuming to repair. There were also safety concerns with dark areas due to failed lights. Shine On was sought based on a recommendation from an existing client.
The project
We completed the installation around the schedules of their customers throughout the day. We also had spotters on the ground to ensure safety. After the installation was completed, extensive testing was done to make sure the lights worked with their pre-existing computer control systems. In addition, some architectural lights that were costing money but not adding lighting to areas needed, were removed.
Results
The centre is now saving 80% on their annual lighting energy costs with a payback period of only 16 months. They love their new floodlights, with the increased lighting levels making the centre and pools look refreshed and clean. They’re also happy to be providing a higher level of safety for their customers and employees.
